PROTECTION AND CONTROL PANELS
The selection of the correct protection and control scheme is fundamental to the operation of electrical distribution systems under normal and fault able to design the optimum system to interface between all the components of an individual site.
The following protection schemes are regularly specified and installed by RISAS.
O |
Over current and earth fault. |
O |
Unit protection of cables, busbars & transformers. |
O |
Trip circuit supervision. |
O |
G59/G75 Protection. |
O |
Auto reclosure. |
O |
Intertripping. |
O |
Blocking and back tripping. |
O |
Testing & commissioning of line protection relays. |
O |
Testing & commissioning of control and relay panels including numerical relays. |
O |
Maintenance testing of numerical relays including line protection relays in process plant, substation and power plants. |
O |
Retrofit job for line protection relays. |
O |
Factory testing for control and relay panels. |
O |
Protection System Calibrations. |

Spare parts supply. |
Protection is either specified on switchgear or mounted within custom built protection panels. Protection relays can be supplied from any of the major manufacturers to provide the correct protection functionality in each individual case. Once installed all relays are tested and commissioned on site to prove correction operation of the scheme.
In most cases outdoor installations have higher maintenance requirements compared to indoor installation, particularly when located within aggressive environments.
To improve equipment reliability and performance, RISAS can conduct the following tests as part of a preventative maintenance program.
